PVR Cinemas Vellore:

PVR Cinemas Vellore hoarding seen on the newly built Velocity mall at Katpadi was making speculations in the internet few weeks back. When everyone was expecting it to be just a multiplex screen, there was a news that it will be the new Velocity mall. And PVR Cinemas occupies the ground and first floor of the mall.

Since last week, the Mall was decorated with lights and decorations increasing the anxiety of the residents.

Velocity mall is located at Silk mill, Katpadi, Vellore.

PVR Cinemas Vellore – Features:

The total land area is close to 50,000 square feet out of which PVR Cinemas will be occupying close to 24,000 square feet.

1. PVR Cinemas will operate 5 screens in the first floor of the mall.
2. Each screen has close to 180 seats.
3. The entire multiplex comprising of 5 screens has approximately 900 seats.
4. Multiplex has 7.1 Dolby sound and advanced technology to give a great movie watching experience.
5. Vellore is the 52nd city that PVR Cinemas is operating in India and also the second city that PVR Cinemas operates at Tamil Nadu.
6. By operating 5 screens, it is also the largest multiplex in Vellore surpassing Vishnu Cinemas which currently operates 3 screens.
7. The shares of PVR has gone up by 2% immediately on the day after their operation at Vellore.
8. They have opened the Kaala (Tamil) movie bookings and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (English) currently on the first day of operation.
9. Their ticket pricing ranges are
   Classic – Rs.72 / Rs.90 (varies based on movies)
   Prime – Rs.155 / Rs.170 / Rs.193 (varies based on movies)
   Note: Online bookings have separate booking charges and GST for the same.

The above show timings are subjected to change with ~15mins depending upon the movie length and other factors.

Show timings will start from 9:00am with 15mins interval between each screening on all the 5 screens during festival seasons with high budget movies.

Also Hundreds Heritage’s “Down Under” Food Court and “Fun House”, a kids fun play centre is operational from July 1, 2018 in the ground floor of Velocity Mall.

Both these business spots in underground are operational from 11am to 11pm.
