Vellore Election Result 2021 – Vellore District has 5 Constituencies in which ADMK bagged 1 and DMK bagged other 4.
After bifurication, Vellore District has 5 Constituencies which are
- Vellore
- Katpadi
- Gudiyatham
- KV Kuppam
- Anaicut
DMK wins in Vellore with a clean marginal victory of 9181 votes. First Mayor of Vellore Corporation and Sitting MLA of Vellore P.Karthikeyan wins it. ADMK fielded its District Secretary S.R.K. Appu who earlier contested twice in Katpadi.
Notably, DMK wins in Katpadi only by a very thin margin of 754 votes in Katpadi. 9 times MLA and DMK General Secretary Durai Murugan lost all the way initially till 15 rounds. After ups and downs he managed to win only by a thin margin against ADMK candidate V.Ramu. V Ramu has been Local body Panchayat President from a nearby village.
DMK candidate Amulu wins in Gudiyatham by 6901 votes. ADMK Candidate Fareedha had a lead in the initial rounds before DMK candidate took lead later on.
ADMK ally Puthiya Paratham which contested in ADMK Symbol wins in KV Kuppam. Povvai Jagan wins by a margin of 5344 votes against DMK.
DMK candidate A.P.Nanda Kumar wins in Anaicut by a margin of 6360 votes. ADMK fielded its Vellore Rural District Secretary Velazhagan against DMK candidate Nanda Kumar. They had a neck to neck clash in first few rounds before APN took the lead in later rounds.
DMK eagerly looked upon to win the entire district before KV Kuppam ADMK Candidate stopped it.
State wise DMK+ wins 159 seats whereas ADMK wins 75 seats in the 234 seats constituency.
After the emerging victory by DMK as a majority party, ADMK Chief Minister Edapadi.K.Palanisami resigns.
DMK Party Head M.K.Stalin is expected to be sworn in as the Chief Minster on May 7 in a simple manner.
