Surprisingly, Vellore received a heavy intensity Off season rain recording 22mm on Wednesday (07-02-2018) night. Started with a heavy burst all of a sudden around 9 pm, the heavy rain lasted for 30 to 45 minutes and had few intervals in between and continued to pour down for 3 hours.
Slight drizzles followed the heavy down pour that lasted for a while. Rain at off seasons occur rarely due to the convergence in the interior regions.
